Happy Valentine's Day 2013

Sam looks so old to me in this picture.

We had a fun Valentine's Day this year. I was able to help in the kid's class at school. They made those really cute Valentine bags the week before which was a bonus, because I didn't have to make them. I also made chocolate dipped strawberries and indoor s'mores for the family. I hope they were good, because I didn't even try them. Just thought I'd pat myself on the back for staying away from the sweets. :)

Ice dam 2013

This is a picture of our roof. It's not a picture of where our roof actually leaked, but it gives you a good idea what it looked like before it did. We are in the process of putting Griff's room back together. Silver lining, I guess, is that we get to have our wood floors redone which I wanted to have done anyway, but now insurance has to pay for it.

It just keeps, snowing, and snowing and snowing...

We are trying to show how big our snow mounds are. It has been a crazy snow year.

Griff has really wanted to make a snowman, but I have tried, but it has been too powdery. He finally just did it himself one day. Pretty cute.

Cute Sam pic

Griff's first lost tooth

He was so happy to finally lose a tooth. It took over a year after Lily lost her first one.

Family Room Remodel 2013

Okay, so you may be wondering why I chose this first picture, but it is to show you how our remodel began. There was a tiny corner of wallpaper coming up on the wall, and right when we noticed it Jake and I knew we should take care of it fast because we knew Sam would rip it. As you can see in this picture, he did rip it. (before I figured out a good way to glue it back down.
Here is a picture of the same wall after we took the wallpaper off. What a pain that was.
Here is that wall after Jake painted it. Much better. I guess in the long run we are glad Sam ripped the wallpaper, since it forced us to redo the family room, which we wanted to do anyway.
Jake hard at work. He is a very good painter, I am not. That is why I was in charge of wallpaper removal.

I couldn't find a good before picture of the family room, but here is the best I had. At least it kind of shows the white walls and wallpaper.
The finished product. The brown looks MUCH greener in the picture than it does it real life. I really like how it turned out. The picture above with the cuckoo clock shows the true color much better. I have really been enjoying this room now, especially since we got our gas fireplace working again. Long story short, the glass on it got broken and it took us 3 years to replace it.
