Splash park in Hurricane

Glad to see Sam enjoying the water. He doesn't love swimming, and had a death grip on me the whole time we took him to a pool a few days before. Didn't bring the camera for that one.

The kids had fun with Daddy at the splash park while Mommy and Grandma went and got pedicures. Before you feel too bad for Jake though, he did get to go golfing while on our trip as well. Sam had quite the meltdown on the way to the park. Jake said he left Sam's shirt on so he wouldn't get so much sun. Sam wasn't too happy about that because we had gone to an indoor pool a few days before and we didn't have him wear a shirt. I should also explain that Sam thinks the word for naked is "Panties" or "Pannies" as he says it. He thinks this because if Griffin ever catches sight of Lily dashing from her room from the bathroom after she takes a bath, he says, "I can see your panties!" Anyway, so since Sam wanted to be half "Pannies", he was screaming, "I LIKE PANNIES" all the way to the splash park. Ah, what a crack-up.

Cedar City

We ended up having an impromptu picnic at a park in Cedar City since it was so dang cold at Cedar Breaks. It was actually pretty fun. The kids loved it, and the weather was great.

Cedar Breaks

We decided to go to Cedar Breaks since we have never been there before. It was really pretty. It reminded me a lot of Bryce Canyon. Also, it was freezing! It was in the 40's I think. I can't remember what the coldest it got was. We knew that it would probably be cold, but for some reason when we got ready to go, we totally forgot. We had shorts and t-shirts. Everyone looked at us like we were crazy, but in our defense, it was like 90 when we got in the car.

The air was pretty thin up there. The park wasn't completely open for the season yet, so we couldn't go on our hike we had planned. (Not that we would have done it in our shorts anyway)
We did run out long enough to take a few pics, but not many.

Zion's Part 2 May 2013

Apparently we didn't get enough of Zion's last month, so we went back again.
This time we visited weeping rock.

 Lunch near the narrows

The squirrels were everywhere! Sam loved them. Whenever he talks about them now that we're home, he reminds us that we can't touch them.

Zion's National Park

We ended our trip in Hurricane, and stayed at Jake's parent's house there. We finally went hiking at Zion's with the kids. We have wanted to since they bought their house there, and have had a picnic there once, but hadn't actually hiked there before. We bought a National Park pass, so now we can go whenever we want.
The bus ride was Sam's favorite part. He has been wanting to ride the bus ever since Lily and Griffin started Kindergarten.

We tuckered Sam right out. It's hard work getting a ride all over the mountain. :)

Bryce Canyon

What a sweetie!

We had so much fun going to Bryce Canyon. The kids like hiking, and luckily I had a hiking backpack for Sam. He got tired pretty easy, and that way we didn't have to chase him either.

National Parks Trip April 2013

Here we are on our drive to Marysvale, UT. We were able to take a much needed vacation with our Daddy. He had been working a lot of hours. We had had some water damage to our wood floors, and used the chance to have the insurance pay for our cabin.

 Here is our cabin

We went to a movie while we were there. It was Sam's first movie at the theater. He did pretty well for awhile, but I ended up out in the hall with him for awhile.
Our cabin only had a table outside, and it was way too cold for that, so we had some picnics on the floor.
Movie in Mommy and Daddy's bed
Our next stop was the Fremont Indian State Park. It was actually really cool. They had a fun kid's section where they could play and dress up, and they had some little hikes where you could see Indian writings on the rocks.

I don't know if you can see the skull in this picture, but our kids thought it was awesome. :)
